My sister-in-law recently had a baby girl and she is GORGEOUS! We are all utterly smitten. The second youngest of the grandchildren in the family starts school in September so babies are definitely a novelty to us all again.
We are loving every cuddle but it’s been a bit of a wake up call for us all. How on earth do you buy gifts for a new baby that aren’t made of or covered in plastic? How is a new mum meant to raise a child she loves in a way that doesn’t destroy the world she’s raising that child into? Something I think we’re all guilty of is focusing on the bits of the world that impact us so baby things haven’t been on my radar for a few years now and therefore sadly missing from the Plastic Free Portal. Until now – I’m finally on it. I’ve searched the mums’ reports, the Which best guides, the Ethical Consumer Guide and the price comparisons to try and find the best plastic free products needed for babies and beyond.
It’s fair to say I’m not done yet – there are certainly loads more products to add, but I wanted to get this out there for anyone in the same position as my sister-in-law who is trying desperately to do the right thing but does not have the hours available to research – because, well, you know, life with a new born! I’ll get a small commission from any purchases but I have no particular affiliations so my aim has been to find the best products at the best price. If there are areas that you specifically want help finding products for, please leave a comment to the post and I’ll see what I can do.
Here’s the link – I hope it helps.
